The recent UNESCO classification of the Mullerthal region has brought an exciting surge of visitors to our beautiful part of the world. Known as "Little Switzerland," the region has gained well-deserved recognition for its breathtaking landscapes and rich history. Many visitors, inspired by this newfound publicity, have discovered the unique charm of Mullerthal—some opting for quick visits by car with iconic photo stops, while others choose to trek or run sections or even the entirety of the 112 km Mullerthal trails.

Trekkers and trail runners come from all walks of life. Some hail from nearby cities or neighboring countries, while others journey from distant corners of the globe to explore the captivating paths and rocky gorges of this region. As locals who are fortunate enough to enjoy these trails on a weekly basis, we’ve had countless opportunities to engage with visitors. We’ve snapped group photos, offered words of encouragement, and shared tips about the trails ahead. These experiences sparked an idea: why not create short portraits of the individuals we meet on the trails in 2025? Much like the celebrated "Humans of New York" project, we want to share the stories of these adventurers—who they are, what brought them here, and what trekking or trail running means to them.

Celebrating Stories and Inspiring Adventures

This project is our way of celebrating the trails we love and inspiring more people to lace up their trekking or running shoes and embark on their own adventures. Through brief interviews, we aim to showcase the diverse and fascinating stories of the people drawn to the Mullerthal trails.

We will share these stories here on this blog, creating a space where readers can connect with the human side of adventure. If the project gains enough interest, we might even consider compiling these tales into a book in the future!
